Who's Offering Incentives, Limiting Products and Turning Away Business?
Last year, more than a third (37 percent) of retail florists provided incentives for customers to order their Valentine's Day flowers early, according to the results of 2007's SAF post-holiday survey. Of course, some didn't listen. If customers waited until Valentine's Day itself, about half the florists (48 percent) reported limiting or streamlining what products they could order. And finally, on the single busiest day for florists, forty-five percent of florist businesses said they stopped taking orders or turned away business on Valentine's Day.
