Ever dream about giving your boss the old heave ho - or, worse yet, do your employees ponder the same about you? Probably, according to a new Gallup poll, which says that 25 percent of employees would fire their bosses.
A recent issue of Workforce Management reports the bad news: "discontent is high among employees who are 'actively disengaged,'" and the good news: "while most of those who connect with their bosses have no plans to roam."
A word to the wise, the article suggests, is to keep your employees feeling connected, not alienated. These 'disengaged' employees said they would give their bosses the ax if the opportunity ever presented itself. On the other hand, even employees that have a good working relationship (about 6 percent in the Gallup Management Journal poll) with their bosses said they would still fire their supervisors. (Weigh in on the issue, in this week's E-Poll).
