Fresh Fashion Features Flowers

If the fashion soothsayers have it right, flowers will have a place well beyond the dining room table — big, bright blooming patterns are predicted as this season's hottest fashion trend.

Sunny, tropical and big flowers are the name of the game for many fashion designers, reports Elizabeth Wellington, fashion columnist for Philadelphia's Philly.com. In are oblong petals "shaped into sunflowers in bold lemon yellows, cobalt blues and tomato reds attached to vibrant, kelly-green stems," she says.

Flowers are blooming not only in fabric patterns but also on accessories such as rings, necklaces and purses, Wellington adds.

Everything from daisies and lilacs to peonies and poppies are featured in patterns from all the big designers, says Stephanie Netherton, of the Shreveport Times in Shreveport La. "Prada, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera and Stella McCartney blossomed on the runway with strong floral designs in their collections," Netherton reports

Check out some of the hottest new fashions in this flowery trend featured this spring on Marie Claire magazine's Web site.
