Flowers Make a Regular Appearance at The Melting Pot

After last week's coverage of The Melting Pot restaurant's negative remarks about flowers, several readers wrote in about the flower-friendly practices of The Melting Pot restaurants in their area — a helpful reminder that what happens at the national level of an operation is not always reflected in the individual franchise locations.

• Robert Sims of Hearts & Flowers in Coral Springs, Fla., writes that The Melting Pot restaurant in Coral Springs "has been selling flowers as part of its romantic evening package."

• Herbert B. Rothe, III, AAF, of Rothe Florists in Philadelphia says the franchise in Chestnut Hill, Pa. also provides flowers to its customers as add-on enhancements and is one of the florist's best corporate customers. "They purchase pre-made bunches of roses from us two or three times a week," explains Rothe. "We sold them around 50 bunches of 1/2 dozen rose bouquets for Valentine's Day alone."

• According to Lea Reznik at Perfect Events in King of Prussia, Pa., "The Melting Pot sells six roses in a bud vase for $25 in all its restaurants." Reznik is not sure who provides the flowers to the restaurant.
