On the Discussion Boards

Weddings are still a focal point on the discussion boards. One educator posted a question asking if other schools receive inquires from brides "looking to buy flowers on a low budget." She wants to know how other schools handle such requests and if students make the floral arrangements as volunteers. In response, a post was added to the discussion by a retail florist indicating that it could be a good real-life experience for students. Check out what else this poster had to say.

A helpful member posted a breakdown of how his shop handles wedding consultations and even offered to provide additional information. A curious poster decided to take him up on the offer and asked if she could get a copy of the pre-consultation form his business uses on their Web site. Want to read more about this coveted form?

A new response was just posted to a discussion on anonymous flower senders. The original post wanted to know how other florists handle requests from customers to remain anonymous when sending flowers. The new poster states that she has had a few customers get upset after being asked to at least leave their name and number for the shop, "but after we explain to them the reason, they give us the information we request without any hesitation." Want to share your experience on this subject?

There were also discussions on new wiring services, help for a rookie florist and floral preservatives. Go ahead and post your responses to any of these topics or go ahead and start your own discussion.
