A Picture is Worth ... Money in the Bank

A SAF poster adorns the wall of Blooms and Bears Florist in Irvine, Calif.

Carl Schwab of Blooms and Bears Florist in Irvine, Calif., knows that SAF's posters inspire customers to buy more flowers -- which is why he put SAF's newest posters, from the 2007 Local Marketing Kit, up in his shop last week.

"Often times, customers need ideas, then they see the posters ... they ask if we can do a similar arrangement [to the ones pictured]," says Schwab. His designers even draw inspiration from them -- when Schwab receives new SAF posters, he will take older ones down and put them in his design center, so the designers can see them.

Schwab has been using SAF's posters since 1992. "When they are matted, in frames, they brighten the shop," he says. More importantly, they help boost floral sales. "Sometimes people come in and think they want a card or a gift, but they see the posters, and are prompted to order flowers," he says.
