The 2007 PAR Initiative Survey is Now Available
The 2007 PAR Initiative Survey is now available.
The WICT Foundation's annual survey on Pay equity, Advancement opportunities and Resources for work/life support is due June 1. From this survey, the PAR Initiative identifies the Best Companies for Women in Cable, helps companies implement processes and measures the status of women in the cable industry.
The PAR Initiative was created by the WICT Foundation in 2003 with a mission to to measure the status of women employees in the cable industry based on the three criteria: Pay Equity, Advancement Opportunities and Resources for Work/Life Support. It takes the form of an annual study as a means to help cable operators, programmers and other industry-affiliated companies implement processes, track progress and adjust inequalities in the workplace.
Data is collected on an annual basis through an official survey of detailed questions about compensation and other policies. After this rigorous process, each participating, company is issued its results, consisting of confidential information, a scorecard that measures their performance against past performance and the industry overall, and a private assessment and consultation on the results with WICT research partner Working Mother Media.
Part self-assesment tool, part industry measuring stick, the annual PAR Initiative compare companies within the cable industry and assigns rankings based on practices and programs that create a more equitable, resourceful and thriving work environment. Individual results are kept completely confidential. A private scorecard is developed for participating companies to measure individual PAR scores against the current state of the industry.
The PAR Initiative Survey deadline is June 1, 2007. To download your copy of the survey or learn more about the PAR Initiative, visit the 2007 PAR Initiative website. Please contact Parthavi Das at 703.234.9803 with any questions or for more information.
