Breaking Ground for Foothill Gold Line Extension
Among the dignitaries who recently prepared to break ground for the Foothill Gold Line light rail extension from Glendora to Montclair, CA, are, from left holding the shovel, Los Angeles Mayor and Metro Board Chair Eric Garcetti, Metro CEO Phillip A. Washington and Foothill Gold Line Chief Executive Officer Habib F. Balian. The Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority is in charge of constructing the $1.5 billion, 12.3-mile project, which LA Metro will administer when it opens. Following three years of utility relocation and other pre-construction activities, major construction will begin in 2020 and is anticipated to be substantially complete in 2026.
