APTA to Develop Recommended Practice for Installation of Cameras
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued a safety recommendation (R-17-13) to FTA regarding the installation of crash- and fireproof inward- and outward-facing audio and video image recorders in all locomotive cabs and cab cars to verify train crew actions and train operating conditions. FTA has asked APTA to develop a recommended practice requiring installation of such crash- and fire-protected recorders. [More]
